The “NG” in the name of the G-POWER SK Plus NG supercharger system is standing for “next generation” and it indicates that the G-POWER SK Plus supercharger system features a complete reworked ASA T3-12 supercharger from the year 2009 on. Thanks to a redesigned supercharger transmission with improved tooth flanks and a modified shaft sealing, the originally for 0,3 bar rel. boost designed ASA T3-12 supercharger is now capable of 0,4 bar rel. These modifications are now available in a package, the G-POWER ”NG Upgrade Kit”, for all existing SK Plus supercharger system delivered before 2009.
Obviously more boost turns into more performance. The standard SK Plus supercharger system turns the stock output of the E46 330i and Z4 3.0i from 231 hp into 286 hp with 0,3 bar rel. boost, while the NG version of the SK Plus supercharger system is capable of 306 hp due to its 0,4 bar rel. boost.
Naturally all the owner of an older SK Plus supercharger would love to have an output of 306 hp instead of 286 hp, as well. That is why G-POWER is introducing the “NG- Upgrade Kit”. With it, all existing SK Plus supercharger systems can be modified to be capable of 0,4 bar rel. boost.
In order to achieve this improvement a lot of modifications need to be done, which can be separated into two major groups:

First the used ASA T3-12 supercharger has to be disassembled and second each moving part (gear wheels, shafts, impeller, supercharger pulley), bearings and sealing has to be changed against new parts, to make the supercharger capable of 0,4 bar rel. boost. The only thing that is reused from the old supercharger are the aluminium cast housings of the impeller wheel and gearbox. The G-POWER “NG Upgrade Kit” includes, except for the housings, a complete new charger. Of course you receive again a 2 years warranty concerning the ASA supercharger!
After the rework of the supercharger, the ASA T3-12 is now capable of 30% more boost. So, in order to prevent the engine form running lean, the setup of the ECU and the fuel supply has to be adjusted accordingly. That is why the G-POWER “NG Upgrade Kit” includes a new ASAtronik module for 0,4 bar rel. boost and a modified fuel pressure regulator, for a max. fuel boost of 4,0 bar.
