… my feeling told me it could go faster. That I know for sure!” A quotation from professional race driver Wolfgang Kaufmann, better know under his nick name “Piranha”, which he owns since 2001 “because he doesn’t give up “biting” his competitors until he finishes first.”
Kaufmann, a passionate fulltime race driver, regularly driving „true“ GT1 race cars from Porsche, Ferrari and Co for his living, ”was deeply impressed” when first driving the G-POWER M5 V10 Hurricane in Nardo with its all new BI-Kompressor system.
“The potential of the Hurricane is unbelievable. The way this car accelerates from 250 km/h to 320 km/h is simply breathtaking. Even compared to a GT1 racer, the Hurricane doesn’t have to fear the comparison. Based on my experience as a race car driver I can tell that this car can go faster than 360 km/h! During our test drive here in Nardo we collected a lot of useful information that we will use in the further development of the Hurricane.” (Quotation Kaufmann)
Unfortunately due to a short cut in one of the many electronic control units, by the way an untouched standard BMW part, we weren’t able to show the cars true potential when “the clock was counting”, like at the pre test runs with Continental high-speed tyres, where we passed the 350 km/h limit easily.
Furthermore we were the only team at the Continental “Highspeed Event” in Nardo, that travelled the complete distance to Nardo (in our case 1.500 km) on the road with the competition car, which shows clearly the reliability of our concept! So the officially recorded 321 km/h top speed hurt a bit…
But the gained experiences of our Nardo adventure tell us that we are „on the right track“. Our concept is right and we are highly motivated to implement the gained knowledge, so that we can provide our customers the same impressive ride on the road for their daily drive, that Wolfgang Kaufmann already enjoyed on the test track.
So if you are a BMW M5 or M6 driver you can start to look forward, since we will transfer your V10 in a true high performance sports car. Of course fully capable to meet your “family needs”.

Conti / AutoBILD Sportscars – Tuning Day
This year, the 13th Conti-Tuning-Day 2006 on the Contidrom – test area in the North of Hannover was themed “tuners – and their refined cars”. A lot of people with distinction in the Scene were represented, from Abt (VW/Audi), via Brabus, Lorinser (Mercedes), CDT (Mitsubishi), Heico (Volvo) up to Oettinger (VW/Audi).
In the morning, the weather first was rainy, at the noontime it cleared off.
For the guild of the BMW refiners, we status-accordantly appeared with our dark black 750 G7. Our complete conversion represented itself in a fascinating, new G-POWER HIGHLINE aerodynamic package made of hybride plastics in GRP – carbon/kevlar reinforced composite. .As contact protection for front and rear bumper, we attached attractive full carbon optic completions.
Our technicians firstly optimized the factory engine by a motronic adjustment, and then in combination with a complete 4-trim sport exhaust system (cat-back) with optimized back pressure and air conduct was brought to the final output of more than 380hp (series 340hp). Thanks to this – by the way cost-saving – fine tuning the rather unobtrusive family vehicle turned into a very sporty sport machine acting with fastest push.
Our suspension modificatins (spring strut suspension) with 60mm lowering alround, massively contributed to chasing the heavy vehicle around the narrow track almost fleet-footed with increased safety feeling! In doing so, our technicians succeeded in keeping the comfort impression close to series. But without the “standardly” disturbing, somehow spongy upswinging effect at quick curve changes. A giant part at this had our tremendous 22 inch G-POWER Styling III (limited edition). The decreased „unsprung“ masses of this 16-spoke super light-weight (by 40 per cent less than standard) provided under all circumstances an intensive road contact, even where this road was “pants” (at Contidrom deliberately!).
Totally 30 readers of AutoBILD Sportscars had an experience-rich day amongst the tuners and enjoyed ACCOMPANYING drives in the tuned bolides, also in the both steep turns of the Contidrom.
The attractive G-POWER G5 V10 on M-Basis – in white colour as it is loved by Japanese people – was photographed by us shortly in April at the SIS 2006 – the special fair for luxury and tuning in Tokyo.
There, we showed this new highlight of our design and technology team. At the booth of the leading Japanese tuning enterprise, the BOND group, accompanied by well-known tuners as TECHART (Porsche refiner).
Our snow-white creation was obviously well accepted, was constantly crowded by audience and a treasured motive for the photographers. Our high-tech engine G5 V10 had to moderate its 600 hp. But our forged wheels Styling III Pro in 21 inches (limited edition), handcrafted, super-light (40 per cent lighter than series) had an attracting effect to the technology-enthusiasts. The whole power moderated by huge, especially developed G400 high—performance brakes. The optic highlight and visual visitor attraction finally was our full-carbon refined G-POWER HIGHLINE aerodynamic design, manufactured by our subsidiary GFKtec.

In time and on occasion of the trade fair in Seoul, G-POWER KOREA introduced the G5 EVOLUTION, based on the E39 M5 5.0l with a performance upgrade to 470hp. As a matter of fact, the vehicle was equipped with the complete EVOLUTION spoiler package (front- and rear bumper, sideskirts). Especially for the G-POWER Daytona II alloy wheels in 19”, the corresponding wheel widenings were mounted for the extreme lowering (G5 RS suspension) of 70 mm, in order to provide sufficient space of the 245/275 wheels. The G-POWER exhaust system was installed as export version in medium sound in connection with the G-POWER racing catalysts. With a V-MAX release, the performance result of the modified M5 is amounting to 312 km/h.
